I gave everything I had to heal her, thinking love could mend her wounds. It wasn't her fault she had been hurt so much that love felt foreign to her. In trying to save her, I lost myself, realizing that sometimes, no matter how much love you give, it won't be enough to heal someone who hasn't learned how to trust it.
